What devices does Orchard buy?

Before we recycle your device, we’ll check whether it still has some life left in it. If your smartphone or iPad is eligible for resale we'll buy them from you! We accept:

  • iPhones: iPhones 8 and up.
  • Samsung Galaxy S: Galaxy S10 and up.
  • Google Pixel: Pixel 4 and up.
  • iPads: iPad 7 and up, any iPad Pro, iPad Air 3 and up and iPad Mini 5 and up.

🔋 Make sure your device turns on

Your device must turn on for us to assess it and potentially make you an offer. Please also charge your device.

☁️ Sign out of iCloud or your Google account

Please remove your Apple/Google account and any activation locks before you arrive.

We cannot accept a device for resale if it is still linked to your iCloud or Google account.

If your device qualifies, we’ll assess its condition and let you know what Orchard can pay you for it.

What happens to my e-waste?

Our recycling partner, Greentec, will make sure anything that’s reached the end of its life is securely and responsibly recycled. Devices are physically destroyed into small pieces, protecting any personal data left behind.

Smartphones and iPads we buy from you take a different path: after we take those in and test them for a final valuation over the next few days, we sell them to a new owner for a second life.

Reuse when we can, recycle when we can’t.

Why we are hosting this drive

Electronic waste is easy to accumulate and not always easy to dispose of responsibly. This drive gives our neighbours a convenient place to clear out unwanted electronics while helping ensure those devices are reused or responsibly recycled.

That mission is closely connected to what we do at Orchard. We buy and sell quality used smartphones, extending the useful life of devices and giving Canadians another option besides buying new.
