iPhone 6s Overview

The iPhone 6S changes what it means to have the world at your fingertips. The new 3D Touch, which senses how deeply you press on the touchscreen, lets you unlock new, better ways of us-ing your phone.

Along with improvements to camera capabilities and 4K video, the iPhone 6S is powered by the Apple A9 system-on-chip, a desktop-class processor that gives you up to 90% better graphics performance and is 70% faster than its predecessor, the Apple A8 chip. With advanced LTE and Wi-Fi technology, you'll see browsing speeds of up to twice as fast as the previous generation phone. What's not to love?

Before Buying a Used iPhone 6s

Even at the discount that comes with buying a used iPhone, you will still end up shelling out a few hundred dollars to walk away with the iPhone 6S. With any purchase in the triple digits, it's important to understand what you're signing yourself up for. Before taking the plunge, there are some key pros and cons to weigh before you go ahead and buy an iPhone 6S.

Why You Should Buy a Used iPhone 6s

1. You can't beat that price

Unless you rob an Apple store (not recommended), buying a used iPhone 6S is the best way to save money when upgrading your phone. Even though the iPhone 6S is a few months old, people are already trading their phones in for resale. Depending on the size, carrier, and condition of the used iPhone 6S for sale, you can expect to pay anywhere between $400 and $700 for that phone. This is a huge discount compared to buying new.

2. 3D Touch is a game changer, hands down

The iPhone 6S ships with iOS 9— an operating system built specifically to leverage 3D Touch so users can access completely new gestures and commands. For the first time, you can "peek" at content on your phone with a light touch and "pop" it into full view by pressing harder. From your home screen, you can almost "right click" on an app to get a popup menu with a harder press on its home screen icon. And to make everything feel intuitive, the iPhone 6S will provide you with 10-millisecond or 15-millisecond vibrations, called haptic taps, to let you know when an action is complete.

It's stuff like 3D Touch that makes Apple, and the iPhone, the standard for high-end smartphones. As The Verge describes, "There just aren't other companies that can roll out a fea-ture like 3D Touch and make it work in a way that suggests the creation of entirely new interface paradigms, and every other phone maker needs to figure out exactly why Apple's cameras are so consistent before they can really compete."

3. Oh yeah, the camera is awesome

If you care about the quality of the photos you take, you will need to get your hands on an iPh-one 6S or forever live with the knowledge that your photos could look better. Way better.

The iPhone 6S features a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera, upgraded from the 8-megapixel camera on the iPhone 6. The front facing camera on the iPhone 6S is 5-megapixels and can record 4K video, as well as 1080p video at 60 frames per second. Plus, the iPhone 6S has a "Retina Flash" feature that allows the display's brightness to be used as a flash on images taken with the front camera and "Live Photos" captures a short video with each photo you've taken, turning them into short GIFs.

Unless Its Large Size is a Dealbreaker...

Like the iPhone 6 that came before it, the iPhone 6S is a smartphone with a 4.7-inch screen, put-ting its total height at just shy of 5.5 inches. While this is still smaller than other Android models out there, its size is nothing to scoff at. If you have smaller hands or prefer a more compact phone in general, you'll find yourself disappointed with the form factor of the iPhone 6S. If the specs of the iPhone 6S interest you, your best bet is going with the iPhone SE.
