If your phone will not recognize your new SIM card, try resetting the phone with your new SIM card installed. To reset your phone, just go to Apps > Settings > Accounts > Back Up and Reset > Factory Data Reset > Reset Device. From here you will have the option to reset the phone.

Once this is done, you should find that your phone is ready to activate with your new SIM card.
