Introducing Concierge: The New Way We Make Selling Simple
Launching an updated version of the Orchard app isn’t typically cause for celebration. Since we released the beta version in late 2013, regular updates are just part of a day’s work. Today, things are different– we’re announcing the latest and greatest manifestation of the Orchard app with Concierge.
When crafting this update, we were careful to keep foundational features in place because we want to continue to empower users all over North America with tools to manage their own iPhone sales. Those elements are all still there: a 4-step diagnostic process, the Fair Market Value of your phone, and an information-rich listing to share through your social networks.
But we knew we could offer a more streamlined and flexible selling process to our users. So we built on our app’s best features, like automatic condition tests and our fair pricing algorithm, and added something we call Concierge (only available in Canada).
Inspired by the “set it and forget it” mentality of infomercials gone by, Concierge does all the hard work of finding a buyer and handling the headaches around finalizing your sale. To give you the most control over your sale, we built a flexible sliding scale that allows you to choose a sell-by date. Now you have the power to decide how quickly you want your phone sold and how much you are willing to part with it for, all on one screen. See photos below.
The process is easy: once you’ve listed your phone with Concierge, we send you packing materials and a pre-addressed shipping box so you can easily ship your phone to us. We take it from there; all you have to do is pop it in the mailbox and wait to get paid. From the moment it arrives at Orchard headquarters, you can begin counting down to the sell-by date that you decided on during the listing process. You will be paid within 24 hours once we have found you a buyer.
